How to Apply Mapei Ultrabond ECO 20

Mapei Ultrabond ECO 20 is a premium moisture-curing adhesive designed for solid hardwood, engineered wood, and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) installation over concrete and wood subfloors.

Preparation: Make sure the subfloor is clean, dry, and structurally sound. Remove any existing adhesive residue, dust, or debris. For concrete subfloors, confirm moisture levels are within acceptable range using a calcium chloride or RH test.

Application: Spread Ultrabond ECO 20 using a recommended trowel (typically 3/16" V-notch for engineered wood, 1/4" x 1/4" square-notch for solid hardwood). Apply in workable sections to avoid skinning. Set planks into the adhesive while it's still tacky and press firmly for full transfer.

Cure time: Allow 12–24 hours before light foot traffic. Full cure typically takes 72 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
