Cut Pile
Cut pile carpets have fibers that are sheared at the top, creating a soft, upright surface and a comfortable underfoot feel. This construction offers a wide range of looks, from casual textured styles to more tailored plush or frieze designs.
Loop/Berber
Loop and berber pile carpets keep the yarn uncut, forming continuous loops that offer excellent durability and resistance to crushing. This makes them a strong choice for high‑traffic areas where appearance retention is important.
Cut & Loop
Also known as patterned carpet, cut and loop carpets combine sheared fibers with uncut loops to create texture or pattern. This style adds visual interest and helps disguise footprints and everyday wear.

INSPIRATION
Solid
Solid carpets offer a clean, uniform look that’s perfect for creating a calm, cohesive space. With one consistent color throughout, they pair easily with any style and make a great foundation for bold décor or simple, timeless design.
Tonal
Tonal carpets blend multiple shades of the same color to create soft movement and depth. This subtle variation helps hide footprints and everyday wear, making tonal styles both beautiful and practical for busy homes.
Fleck
Fleck-style carpets feature small specks of contrasting color scattered throughout the base tone. These multi-color accents add visual interest and are excellent at disguising dirt, making fleck carpets a durable, family‑friendly choice.
More About Carpet
Carpet Remnants & Pricing
Floor Craft's carpet is priced by the square yard, equal to 9 square feet. However, our REM Room features a large, continually updated selection of precut carpet remnants that are in stock and ready to take home the same day. Prices are per remant.
Remnants are leftover cuts from full carpet rolls, typically ranging from small pieces to generous room‑size sections. They offer an affordable way to carpet your home without waiting for special orders. It's a one‑of‑a‑kind piece at a discounted price.
These pieces can also be transformed into custom area rugs! Read more about our custom area rug services here.
Carpet Pad
Carpet pad plays a key role in overall comfort, performance, and longevity. It serves as a cushion beneath the carpet, helping absorb impact, reduce noise, and support the carpet’s backing to prevent premature wear. Pads vary in thickness, density, and material, allowing you to choose the right product for the project. A Floor Craft representative will be happy to guide you through the process of choosing the right pad for you.
Higher‑density pads provide better durability in high‑traffic areas, while specialty moisture‑resistant pads are recommended for basements or homes with pets. Some carpet pads, like our Pet Blocker pad, even have anti-microbial properties to prevent bacteria and odor from pet messes and spills.
Fiber & Construction
Carpet fiber and construction determine how a carpet performs, how it looks, and how it responds to everyday use. Fiber type refers to the material the carpet is made from—such as nylon, polyester, triexta, wool, or olefin—each offering different strengths in durability, stain resistance, and softness. Construction refers to how the fibers are tufted, twisted, or looped into the carpet backing. Factors like twist level, pile height, yarn density, and backing structure influence wear resistance and texture. Ask a Floor Craft representative to help you find a carpet with the perfect fiber and construction types for you.
Texture & Pattern
Texture and pattern describe the visual style and surface feel of a carpet. Textured carpets use varying fiber heights or twists to create a look that helps mask footprints and vacuum marks. Patterned carpets use a combination of cut and loop constructions to form distinct designs—from subtle geometric textures to bold, decorative patterns—adding visual interest to stairs, hallways, and formal spaces. Loop styles, including Berbers, offer a tailored and durable appearance ideal for active areas. Understanding texture and pattern helps homeowners choose a carpet that suits both their aesthetic preferences and the functional needs of the room.
