How Buying a Remnant Works

  • Turn a remnant into a custom rug

Add binding to a carpet remnant and create a custom area rug at a much lower price than a ready-made rug.

We bind and serge edges in-house with a clean, durable finish. Pick a remnant you love and we'll turn it into a finished rug. It's one of the most popular things our customers do with remnants. Learn more about our custom rug binding service, or browse ready-made area rugs.

  • Take it home today or have it installed

Remnants are in stock at the showroom, so there's no ordering and no waiting, you can take your piece home the same day. Want it installed? Our local crews handle remnant installations too, including pad, stretching, and clean finishing, just like a full carpet job. Tell us the room and we'll help you pick a piece that fits with enough margin to work with.

  • Inventory changes constantly - first come, first served

Our remnant selection is always changing, and popular colors go fast. If you see something you like, grab it. Looking for something in particular? Call 719-633-7724 and we'll tell you what's on the rack today or just come browse.

  • What a remnant is (and why it costs less)

A carpet remnant is the leftover end of a full carpet roll - brand-new, quality carpet from mills like Dream Weaver, Shaw, and Lexmark. Remnants are not used or defective material. Because it's the last piece of the roll, it's priced to move: you get the same carpet that sells by the foot in our main collection at a fraction of the cost. For a single room, a remnant is usually the best value in the store.

Why Remnants Are a Smart Buy in Colorado Springs

Real carpet, small-project prices

Colorado Springs has no shortage of single-room projects - finishing a basement bedroom, warming up a nursery, making a rental presentable, adding comfort to a home office. Buying a full roll for one room rarely makes sense. A remnant covers the space with quality carpet at a price that leaves room in the budget. Shopping remnants but need more square footage? See our full carpet collection for current rolls, brands, and patterns available by the yard.

In stock today - no lead times

Regular flooring orders take time to arrive. Remnants don't: what's on the rack is in the building, so a same-week carpet project is realistic. That makes remnants the answer when a move-in date, a listing photo shoot, or a tenant turnover is coming up fast. Visit the showroom, pick your piece, and it's yours, installed by our crews or in the back of your truck the same day.

Carpet Remnant FAQs

What are carpet remnants?

Carpet remnants are the brand-new, pre-cut end pieces left over when full carpet rolls are cut for other jobs. They're high-quality carpet from the same mills as our main collection - not used, damaged, or second-grade material. They’re sold at a deep discount because each piece is the last of its roll. They're ideal for single rooms, basements, rentals, and custom bound rugs.

What sizes of carpet remnants do you have?

Our remnant inventory rotates constantly - sizes and quantities change as pieces sell, so we never promise specific sizes online. If you need a certain size, call 719-633-7724 and we'll check what's on the rack today, or stop by the showroom at 5855 N Academy Blvd. Everything is on a first come, first served basis.

How much do carpet remnants cost?

Remnants are priced per piece and always cost a fraction of what the same carpet runs by the square yard from a full roll. They're the best carpet value in the store. Each piece is individually marked, and prices vary with the carpet quality and the piece. Stop by or call for today's selection and pricing.

Can you bind a carpet remnant into an area rug?

Yes, this is one of the most popular uses for remnants. We bind remnant edges in-house with a clean, durable finish, turning any piece into a finished area rug, usually for far less than a comparable ready-made rug. Pick a remnant you love and ask our team about binding options and turnaround.

Do you install carpet remnants?

Yes. Our local installation crews handle remnant projects throughout Colorado Springs including pad, stretching, seaming, and finishing - the same professional job as a full carpet installation. Tell us the room you're carpeting, and we'll help you choose a piece with enough margin to install cleanly, then quote the installation.

How often do new remnants come in?

There's no set schedule. Remnants come in and sell often, so the rack is always changing, and our website shows only a few of them. Call 719-633-7724 or stop by the showroom to see what's in stock today. Popular colors and larger pieces tend to go quickly, so when you find a good match, don't wait.
