Acceptance
- For jobs less than $2,000, payment is required in full. For jobs over $2,000, a 50% deposit is required upon proposal approval. The remaining balance will be billed once the job is completed. If the job is performed in phases, progress billing will occur as each phase is completed. A down payment is not required if financing with Synchrony.
- The proposal is good for 30 days.
- Interest at the rate of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) will be charged on unpaid balance after 10 days from the invoice date. If the matter is turned over to an attorney for collections, the customer will be charged for all fees associated with the attempt to collect the debt.
- Floor Craft charges a 3% fee on all credit card transactions; there is no Floor Craft fee imposed on debit cards, ACH, checks, or Synchrony financing.
Financing
- Floor Craft offers 12-month deferred interest financing through Synchrony. For details or to apply, visit www.floorcraft.us/pages/financing.
General
- Quality independent subcontracted installers are scheduled to perform installations, but all customer communication prior, during, and after installation happens directly with Floor Craft.
- Appliances with water or gas lines will not be reset due to the potential hazard of leaks. It is the customer’s responsibility to coordinate resetting these appliances.
- Samples are meant to represent the ordered product and are not guaranteed to be an exact match. Vents, transitions, trim pieces and profiles are meant to coordinate with the flooring or wall finishes and will not be an exact match.
- Minor damage to walls, trim, and baseboards can occur during flooring removal and installation, despite our best efforts. Floor Craft is not liable for such occurrences.
- For all hard surface flooring, it is recommended that pads be installed on furniture legs to prevent damaging the floor.
- Floor squeaks can be caused by a multitude of things beneath the substrate and eliminating them is not within the scope of work.
- Floor Craft is not responsible for damage to hidden wires or pipes in floors, walls, or baseboards.
- The HVAC system must be running and maintain at least 65°F during installation. There is no warranty if permanent heat is not installed during installation.
- Accommodation will not be paid for if floors need repaired or replaced.
- Orders may be cancelled due to pricing or other errors.
Additional Charges
- Standard floor prep consists of general sweeping, scraping, and feather patching the substrate. When existing flooring is down it is not possible to know the condition of the substrate. Therefore, any severe subfloor prep, such as subfloor replacement, concrete grinding or self-leveling, and moisture mitigation is subject to additional charges. These will be communicated to the customer should they arise.
- Furniture moving (when included in the proposal) includes moving standard large items such as couches, tables, and beds. It’s required that furniture be emptied prior to the installer’s arrival, and all knickknacks be removed from any surfaces being moved. Electronic devices will not be disconnected or reconnected. Floor Craft does not move pianos, pool tables, mechanically adjustable beds, breakable items, or items of significant value. The floor of any closets receiving flooring must be cleared. If these conditions are not met, or if furniture is not moved when required, additional charges may apply.
- Finished flooring height can vary, therefore door cutting is not included in the proposal.
Environmental Hazards
- Colorado state law requires an asbestos test when 32 square feet or more of adhered material is removed in a residence, or 160 square feet or more is removed commercially.
- Floor Craft is not liable for any mold discovered during or after installation. If mold is found, work will stop until a remediation expert evaluates the area. All remediation costs are the customer’s responsibility.
Warranty
Floor Craft provides a one-year warranty on all workmanship. Service charges may apply for work requested after the warranty period. Product warranties are provided by the manufacturer via Floor Craft and vary by product.
Job Cancellations, Returns, Product Excess/Shortage
If you would like to cancel your job, please notify your salesperson immediately. The deposit will be refunded, less any ordered, unreturnable product and/or expenses incurred to return the product. Returns of unopened, undamaged stock material within 30 days of the customer receiving the order will be accepted. The customer acknowledges that the contract price will not be adjusted for any excess material or additional material required to complete the job.
Carpet Disclosure
- Carpet seams are visible and unavoidable in most installations. They may be more noticeable with certain carpets, such as berber, and can be affected by room lighting. This is normal and will blend in over time.
- If metal transitions are needed between carpet and hard surfaces, colors are matched as closely as possible to existing fixtures.
- Estimators measure for the correct amount of carpet, but final seam placement is at the installer’s discretion.
- “Roll crush” (temporary matting) may occur from storage; fibers typically recover within a few weeks. Vacuuming and higher humidity can help.
- Most manufacturers require professional carpet cleaning every 12 to 24 months to maintain the warranty. Check your manufacturer’s care guide or contact your salesperson for details.
Laminate and Vinyl Disclosure
- Floating floors require transitions where they meet other flooring or objects to maintain the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Standard floor preparation is included, but minor undulations or movement may still occur due to substrate imperfections.
- Floating floors expand and contract with seasonal and environmental changes. Window coverings are strongly recommended in areas with direct sunlight to minimize excessive movement.
Wood Disclosure
The following scenarios are common and are not considered product defects; therefore, they are not covered by Floor Craft’s or the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Temperature, humidity, and moisture affect wood flooring. Maintain your home between 65–75°F and 35%–55% humidity. A whole-house humidifier is strongly recommended, and often mandated, for Colorado’s dry climate. Consistent conditions are essential for long-term floor performance.
- Seasonal changes may cause separation, cracks, or gaps in the floor.
- Minor cracks (checking) or edge cupping may occur, especially with unstable moisture levels.
- Floors may pop or creak as moisture levels change.
- All wood floors can show scratches and dings. Use walk-off mats, vacuum regularly, and use manufacturer-recommended cleaners to minimize this.
- Variation in shade, grain, and board length is normal. Boards are not individually selected for uniformity.
Tile and Natural Stone Disclosure
- Color variation between grout and caulk is normal due to differences in their composition.
- Grout joint sizes are determined by Floor Craft and the installer, based on tile size, shape, substrate conditions, and installation complexity.
- Natural stone varies in color, shade, texture, veining, and other characteristics. These variations are inherent and acceptable. It is porous and must be re-sealed every 1 to 3 years, depending on use. Floor Craft seals the stone at installation.
- Grout and epoxy may darken or slightly change the color of natural stone.
Third Party Purchased Materials
Floor Craft carefully selects its manufacturer and distributor partners to ensure quality and service. Therefore, special conditions apply to installations using materials purchased from third parties.
- Floor Craft reserves the right to decline installation of materials not supplied by us.
- Assistance with material calculations may be provided upon request, but the customer is responsible for any shortages, excess, or damaged product.
- Customers must purchase and deliver third-party materials to Floor Craft or have them on site for installation.
- No warranty is provided on products purchased through third parties.
