Acceptance

  • A 50% deposit is required at the time of acceptance for all proposals that include installation. The remaining balance is billed upon completion of each phase of the job. All product only orders require payment in full at time of order.  A down payment is not required if financing with Synchrony. Specific Synchrony terms are outlined below. This proposal is good for 30 days.
  • Floor Craft charges a 3% fee on all credit card transactions; there is no Floor Craft imposed fee on debit cards, ACH, checks, or Synchrony financing.
  • Interest at the rate of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) will be charged on unpaid balance after 30 days. If the matter is turned over to an attorney for collections, the customer will be charged for all fees associated with the attempt to collect the debt.

Financing

Floor Craft currently offers 12-month same-as-cash financing through Synchrony. Please refer to the financing disclosure for additional information on the program offered.

General

  • Floor Craft arranges quality independent subcontracted installers to perform installations, but all customer communication prior, during, and after installation happens directly with Floor Craft.
  • Floor Craft does not reset any appliances with water lines after installation due to the potential hazard of leaks. It is the customer’s responsibility to coordinate resetting these appliances.
  • Samples are meant to represent the ordered product and are not guaranteed to be an exact match.
  • Minor damage to walls, trim, and baseboards can occur during flooring removal and installation, despite our best efforts. Floor Craft is not liable for such occurrences.
  • Vents, transitions, trim pieces and profiles are meant to coordinate with the flooring or wall finishes and will not be an exact match.
  • For all hard surface flooring, it is recommended that pads be installed on furniture legs to prevent damaging the floor.
  • Floor Craft does not pay for accommodation if floors need repaired or replaced.
  • Floor Craft reserves the right to cancel orders arising from pricing or other errors.

 Additional Charges

  • The proposal includes standard floor prep which consists of typical sweeping, scraping, and feather patching the substrate. However, when existing flooring is down it is not possible for Floor Craft to know the condition of the substrate with certainty.  As such, any severe subfloor prep, such as subfloor replacement, concrete grinding or self leveling, and moisture mitigation, is subject to additional charges.
  • Furniture moving (when included in the proposal) includes moving standard large items such as couches, tables, and beds.  Floor Craft requires that furniture be emptied prior to the installer’s arrival, and all knickknacks be removed from any surfaces being moved . Floor Craft will not disconnect or reconnect electronic devices. Floor Craft does not move pianos, pool tables, mechanically adjustable beds, breakable items, or items of significant value. If closets will be receiving new flooring, it’s required that the floor of the closets be cleared. The customer acknowledges that a failure to meet these conditions can result in additional charges. If the Customer chooses to move the furniture and Floor Craft still must move items, additional charges will apply.
  • The final finished flooring height can be difficult to determine, therefore cutting doors due to a change in flooring height is not included in any proposals.
  • Any charges resulting from the above scenarios will be applied at a rate of $125/hr, plus any products required.

Environmental Hazards

  • Colorado state law requires an asbestos test when certain quantities of adhered material are to be removed.
  • Floor Craft is absolved of any liability from any mold discovered during or after installation. Any mold discovered will be contained to the best of our ability and work will cease until the area can be evaluated by a remediation expert. Any remediation expenses is solely the customer’s to bear.

 Warranty

Floor Craft provides a one-year warranty on all workmanship. After that time period, a service charge may apply for any requested service work. Product warranties are provided by the manufacturer via Floor Craft and vary by product.

Job Cancellations, Returns, Product Excess/Shortage

If you would like to cancel your job, please notify your salesperson immediately. Floor Craft will refund the full deposit amount, less any ordered, unreturnable product and/or expenses incurred to return the product. Floor Craft will accept returns of unopened, undamaged, stock material within 30 days of the customer receiving the order. If a job cannot be completed due to a material shortage, Floor Craft will cover the cost of the additional product needed and the labor to complete the job.  If there is excess product remaining following the completion of a job, Floor Craft will not credit the customer for left over product. When accepting the proposal, the customer acknowledges the possibility of needing more product or having extra product, and that there will not be any adjustment to the contract price due to product shortage or excess.

Carpet Disclosure

  • Carpet seams can be visible and are unavoidable in most carpet installations. Seams can be more prominent with certain carpets, Berber in particular, and visibility can be affected by the lighting direction in the room. This is normal and will relax over time to blend in.
  • If metal transitions are needed from carpet to other hard surfaces, the color is matched as closely as possible to the existing metal fixtures in the carpeted space.
  • Estimators will measure the space for the proper amount of carpet to be installed, but the final placement of seams is left to the discretion of the installer. They are professionals and will place seams in the best locations from their experience.
  • Carpet can occasionally suffer from “roll crush”, which is a matted look, from being rolled at the mill and stored in a warehouse. The carpet fiber will typically stand back up within a few weeks of installation. Vacuuming and higher humidity levels can help this process.
  • Most carpet manufacturers require that professional carpet cleaning be performed every 12 to 24 months, manufacturer dependent, to maintain the warranty on the carpet.  We recommend checking your carpet manufacturer's online care guide for specific instruction.  Please reach out to your salesperson if you require assistance.

Laminate and Vinyl Disclosure

  • Floating floors require transitions where meeting other flooring types and other objects to maintain the manufacturer’s warranty, and therefore will be installed where necessary.
  • Standard floor prep will be performed for the installation, but unavoidable substrate imperfections can still result in minor undulation with glue down flooring, or potentially clicking or bouncing from floating floors in areas.
  • Floating floors expand and contract as the seasons and environment change. It is strongly recommended to have window coverings, particularly in areas of strong, direct sunlight to help minimize any hyper movement of the flooring.

Wood Disclosure

Solid and engineered wood is a natural product with constantly fluctuating moisture content resulting in expansion and contraction. The scenarios listed below are common and are not considered product defects; therefore, neither Floor Craft's nor the manufacturer's warranty applies.

  • Temperature, moisture, and humidity all affect wood. Ideally your home should always be between 65 and 75 degrees and 35%-55% humidity. Manufacturers strongly recommend a whole house humidifier to combat Colorado’s dry environment. Maintaining proper, consistent environmental conditions is the single most important factor for the long-term success of your wood floor installation.
  • Separation, cracks, and/or gaps may appear and disappear in your floor as the seasons and weather change.
  • Some boards may develop minor cracks (checking) in the finish, mostly near the ends of the boards, or may curl slightly along the edges (cupping). This is most commonly a result of unstable moisture levels within the home.
  • As the wood retains and releases moisture it can pop and creak.
  • All wood, regardless of type, species, finish, hardness, etc. can show scratches and dings. Installing walk-off mats by doors, keeping your floor swept, and using manufacturer recommended cleaners will help REDUCE this.
  • There is an expected variation in shade, grain, and potentially length between boards.  Individual boards will not be picked through to attempt to eliminate variation.
  • Floor Craft is not responsible for damaged electrical wires or pipes in floors, walls, or along baseboards. There is no way of knowing where any of these lines are running.
  • Your HVAC system must be in consistent operation for Floor Craft to install your floor. The temperature must remain at a minimum of 65 degrees. IF PERMANENT HEAT IS NOT INSTALLED IN THE HOME DURING INSTALLATION THERE WILL BE NO WARRANTY.

Tile and Natural Stone Disclosure

  • Coloration between grout and caulking is expected to have some variation. The two products have different chemical compositions and therefore will not be an identical match.
  • Grout joint sizes will be at the discretion of Floor Craft and the installer. The tile size and shape, manufacturing process, substrate integrity, and installation complexity are all factors in determining the optimal grout joint sizing.
  • Stone is a natural product. Therefore, variation in color, shade, texture, veining, inclusions, mineral deposits and other imperfections are inherent and acceptable. Natural stone is porous and requires sealing. Floor Craft will seal the stone during installation, but the stone must be re-sealed every 1 to 3 years as homeowner maintenance depending on the application.
  • Stone is affected by grout and epoxy. This can result in a darkening or slight color change of the natural stone.

Third Party Purchased Materials

Floor Craft thoroughly vets its manufacturer and distributor partnerships to ensure the product provided is of an acceptable quality backed by reputable service. As such, Floor Craft has strict stipulations for requested installations of products purchased through third parties.

  • It is at Floor Craft’s sole discretion to decide if we will install material not provided by Floor Craft.
  • Floor Craft may assist in take-off calculations if requested, but we will not be responsible for any product shortage, excess product, or broken product.
  • The customer must purchase the material directly and either deliver it to Floor Craft, or have it on site at the time of the installation.
  • Floor Craft will not warranty any product purchased through a third party.

Product Only Orders

  • Product orders come from many manufacturers, distributors, and geographical locations of which Floor Craft has extremely limited control over.  Floor Craft makes no guarantees of delivery dates, and any information regarding product ETA's is only as accurate as the information we are given.
  • Floor Craft sales personnel may help with take-off calculations, but it is ultimately the customer's responsibility to determine final quantities. Floor Craft will not be held responsible for material shortages or excess material being ordered.
  • An order qualifies for free delivery within 16 mile radius of Floor Craft if the order exceeds $500; any mileage over 16 will be charged at the rate of $5.00/mile. Any orders less than $500 may still be delivered at the rate of $5.00/mile, with a $40 minimum charge.
  • Our Scheduler will contact the customer to coordinate delivery of the material and will provide a 2 hour window that the material will be delivered within.  After being notified that the material is available, the customer has 30 days to take possession of it, after which a $2/day charge will be applied.
  • If the customer is not present to receive the material it will be brought back to Floor Craft, and any further delivery attempts will be charged for at the standard mileage rate.
  • Floor Craft will make one delivery trip. If the customer would like Floor Craft to deliver a portion of the order while waiting for the remainder to arrive Floor Craft will do so, but the customer is responsible for picking up the remaining items or paying another delivery charge. Otherwise, Floor Craft will deliver the entire order once all the material has arrived.
  • Delivered products will be unloaded and stacked on the main level of the house or in the garage; product will not be taken into any specific rooms not on the main level where the installation may be taking place.
