Community Outreach
We believe in building strong communities. Explore how Floor Craft partners with organizations in the Colorado Springs, CO area.
As a locally-owned Colorado Springs Flooring company, we’ve enjoyed calling Colorado Springs our home for over three generations. With deep roots in our community, we believe it’s important for all of us to reach out to the community and create a better place to call home. That’s why we are proud to report that we are committed to donating a percentage of our year-end profits (from both our residential and builder sales) to local charities that are near and dear to our hearts. Each of our clients, regardless of the size of the job, designates which of the four charities (CASA, HBA Cares, Careers in Construction, National Milldog Rescue) they would like their proceeds to go towards. Established in 1942, Floor Craft is committed to paying it forward in Southern Colorado. Some of our favorite charities include:
- Habitat for Humanity and ReStore
- Susan G. Komen Foundation
- Shop for the PAWS
- Be Ovary Aware
- CASA
- HBA Cares
- Careers in Construction
- National Mill Dog Rescue
So, on behalf of these incredible organizations, thank you for making a difference.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the Pikes Peak Region is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization serving El Paso County and Teller County that trains and supervises volunteers to represent the best interests of our most vulnerable citizens – victims of child abuse, neglect, and severe domestic conflict. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court and in the community. The desired result is that children are placed into safe, loving homes where they can thrive.
CAREERS IN CONSTRUCTION was launched in 2015 to help young people connect with construction trade education in the Pikes Peak and Southern Colorado regions. Careers in Construction (CIC) was piloted by the Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs to support vocational education at area high schools and colleges – and to encourage our allies in the construction industry to join us in creating well-paying career opportunities while helping their industries.
Program Goals
- To show teens across the Pikes Peak region – as well as their families, educators, and community leaders – the value of learning a trade, both for the satisfaction of building something and the career and educational opportunities it can lead to later in life.
- To offer job, internship, and apprentice opportunities for young people who want careers in the trades.
- To engage our fellow businesses in supporting this valuable program, addressing the shortage of skilled tradespeople in Colorado, and helping the construction industry grow.
HBA CARES is the philanthropic arm of the Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs; HBA Cares connects community needs to the resources of the industry in many different ways:
- Assisting other housing-related nonprofit agencies with their construction project needs.
- Supporting charitable activities conducted by members of the HBA of Colorado Springs.
- Collaborating with other area nonprofit agencies, commercial firms, and/or government agencies on problems or opportunities that impact the community.
From being involved in a multi-year project to handling a simple request over the phone, HBA Cares helps make the connections that help build community. Review the HBA’s Assistance Application Form.
National Mill Dog Rescue is run almost solely by volunteers. NMDR has pledged to put an end to the cruelty of the puppy mill industry. Through widespread informative efforts, NMDR hopes to educate the public to acquire their companion animals through reputable breeders or, better yet, from shelters and rescue groups across the country. NMDR’s mission is to RESCUE, REHABILITATE, and RE-HOME discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.
