We are writing to you today to express our deepest appreciation for the excellent job Wayne did on the floor leveling and vinyl installation in our basement of our old house on Broadmoor Bluffs.  It was a difficult task requiring patience and skill, both which Wayne demonstrated throughout the time he was performing the work. Now that we are settled into our new house and we can view it with a critical eye, there is significant improvement to be made with upgrading our flooring. You can be assured that when the time comes, we will be calling Floor Craft to perform the work.

Dear Mr. Strauch,

I’m writing to thank you and to share my admiration for Floor Craft, your ideals, and commitment. A little over a year ago, Floor Craft installed carpeting and tile in our newly constructed bedroom suite. As a side note, the carpet you installed in our existing bedroom area was purchased over 30 years ago at Floor Craft. It has been great carpet.

At the year anniversary of the installation of the carpet and tile, I received a call from one of your personnel indicating that my one year installation warranty was almost up and asking if I had any issues or comments regarding our carpet or tile. I, somewhat abashedly, indicated that I was a little unhappy with the tile installation. I was somewhat embarrassed since I was partially culpable for the mis-laid tile.

Apparently, our bedroom suite was not square. After laying one row of tile, your tile installer indicated that the tile was not square with the side walls since it was square with the outside wall. He asked me if that was acceptable. Having no fixtures, cabinets, etc. installed, I could not see a large discrepancy and indicated the tile would be acceptable.

After cabinet installation, the skewed tile lines were more apparent to me, particularly in our small water closet room where I could easily see the skewed tile lines. Frankly, it really bothered me. Since I felt somewhat at fault, I resisted contacting you.

One of your managers, Steve Webb, contacted me, learned of my issues and visited our house to see the skewed tile for himself. He agreed that the tile was skewed. I asserted my part in accepting the skewed tile. He understood and appreciated my comments, but indicated that Floor Craft also had some part in the tile situation.

Mr. Webb visited several times and determined that the best solution would be to lay another tile course over the existing tile. He indicated that Floor Craft was willing to do this at its cost. I had earlier told Mr. Webb that I was happy to share some of the cost, which I did, but I believe my monies were significantly less than half of the total cost.

One of your installers, Rip Van Winkle, came to our house and installed the tile. I was at work at the time, but my wife was at home. Several times Mr. Van Winkle asked my wife if the tile looked ok. He had a genuine interest in doing the job right and in our satisfaction.

The tile is in and looks great.

Mr. Strauch, I appreciate your company more than ever. You didn’t have to do all that you did for me. I never contacted you with my frustrations and was partly at fault. However, you went beyond any responsibility you had and corrected our situation. Thank you.

In addition, your personnel, Mr. Webb and Mr. Van Winkle were superb in their tasks consistently trying to do all they could to make us happy. I hope you indicate my pleasure to them as well.

My wife and I both appreciate your efforts.
