Floor Craft and Remnant World - Frequently Asked Questions
Question - Does your price include installation?
Answer - Some products are tagged with an
“Installed” price. A field estimate is still necessary for an exact
quote. Many products require us to assess the job to determine proper
installation and prep costs. We will be glad to schedule a day and time
to come to your home or office for a free flooring estimate.
Question - How do I clean the product?
Answer - We carry a full line of sundries and
cleaners for all types of flooring, including Capture carpet cleaner,
Bona wood cleaner and Once n Done for vinyl, tile and laminates floors,
just to name a few. If you need your carpet professionally cleaned, we
would be happy to refer you to a reputable carpet cleaning company.
Question - What is your warranty?
Answer - Floor Craft warranties our labor for one
year from the date of installation. If we do a retail installation for
you, you will get a warranty follow-up call from us at the end of the
year to ask if you’re still satisfied with the job or if there are any
issues we need to address. Individual products carry warranties by the
manufacturer as per their specifications. Ask one of our salespeople for
specific warrantees on individual flooring products.
Question - Do you do free estimates?
Answer - Yes, we provide a free, no obligation
estimate before we do any work for you. You will receive an itemized bid
detailing the scope of the job. We require half down and a signed copy
of the estimate before material is ordered and installation can be
scheduled.
Question - Are your installer’s employees or subcontractors?
Answer - Our installers are independent
subcontractors that work for us on a regular basis. Most of them have
been with us for a minimum of 5 years, and some as long as 20 years or
more. All work is guaranteed by Floor Craft, regardless of which
installer is on the job.
Question - Do you seal grout?
Answer - Not unless it is specifically in the bid as
part of the installation. We sell several excellent sealers over the
counter that can be applied by the homeowner or end user to protect your
grout, stone and tile work.
Question - How do your prices compare to other
stores?
Answer - We are extremely competitive. In addition
to excellent customer service, before and after the sale, we offer high
quality products at a fair price. That philosophy has kept us busy
covering floors since 1942.
Question - Are your salespeople knowledgeable?
Answer - We have over 150 combined years of
extensive product knowledge and continue to learn about the newest
fashion trends and materials available to our industry in order to stay
a “cut above”.
Question - Which is better – prefinished wood or jobsite
finished?
Answer - They are both excellent products that excel
in different ways. For example, you would want a prefinished, engineered
wood for dimensional stability in a below grade application such as a
basement. If you’re thinking of putting hardwood in your living room
where it might meet up to an existing tile installation, you may want to
consider a jobsite finished ¾” solid wood that can be stained to accent
your tile and surrounding décor and that will work height wise next to
the tile in your kitchen.
Question - Do you have remnants?
Answer - We literally have hundreds of carpet and
vinyl remnants that are on sale for half off the price that’s marked.
You’ll find full room sizes and beyond, as well as smaller sized pieces
to cover almost any floor space.
Question - Do you sell to contractors?
Answer - Yes. If you’re working with a contractor,
let us know when you come in to our store so that we can figure their
estimate at contractor pricing. You will then get your price from the
contractor.
